12 hours…. am I stupid?

In less then 8 hours I start and I swear I’m beginning to think I’m stupid.

What am I thinking?  Can I really do this?  Do I even want to?

Want to know what I’m talking about?

Check out my blog Tomorrow New Years Day 2009 for all the details.

Playing in the snow.

Today the kids and I played in the snow. We build three snowmen – a daddy a mommy and a baby.

We knocked iceciklles (Sp?) off the down spouts and put them in front of the kids bedroom window so they could watch them melt.

We raked snow- Quinn’s idea and he seemed to have fun with it and Willoweve ate snow.  I gave her very careful and specific direction on what snow was safe to eat and what wasn’t.

Here are a few pictures of our snow filled afternoon.

It Never snows in Seattle

So one of the things I planned to miss when we moved to Seattle was snow.  Everyone we asked said Seattle Rarely got snow and when it did it didn’t last more then a few hours – maybe occasionally overnight.

Yeah – here is the pictural (is that a real word if so how is it spelled?) evidence I have collected – you decide what you think.

So you tell me – does it snow in Seattle?

We have had snow on the ground in excess of 4 inches since Monday December 15th.

Here are some pictures of the kids playing in the snow.

I hope everyone is having as much fun in the snow as we are – I am personally relieved that it DOES sometimes snow in Seattle – even if it is very rare.  And based on the reaction of everyone in the city I can tell it really is rare.

Snow in Seattle.

This weekend it snowed in Seattle.

Dec 2008 016

So before Jason and I moved here we were told a few Myths about Seattle.

One of these myths – It doesn’t really snow in Seattle – but when it does it looks pretty for about 20 minutes then melts.

This myth was totally backed up by last Christmas -but has proved to be a myth this week. We STILL have snow on the ground and sidewalks and roads are still frozen SOLID.

Of course with the way many people are acting I can believe that they really aren’t used to snow.

It might snow again tonight- We’ll so – but as of right now we still have snow on our front yard from this weekend and the back roads and neighborhoods are still thick with ice.
